Our Founders

Anu Rai


Anu holds a postgraduate degree in Environmental Science from Kathmandu University, Nepal. She has supported and led several freshwater ecological studies and promoted stewardship of common pool resources. Currently, she is spearheading the prototyping of biopesticide at Nagdaha as is also consulting on a project run by Youth Innovation Lab and Stockholm Environment Institute which focuses on co-designing nature-based solutions to improve public health outcomes in Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Nepal. 

Bibek Shrestha


Bibek is studying Master of Environmental Science at Yale University. He has over three years of professional experience in environmental sciences centered on river water quality, aquatic biodiversity, and environmental assessment of hydropower projects. 

Anusha Pandey


Anusha is an MSc student of Environmental Science at Kathmandu University. Her research interests are ecology, hydrology, and remote sensing. She is currently working on investigating the abundance and diversity of aquatic communities, in particular, the linkages between invertebrates, primary producers, and fish communities, along with how they are influenced by hydro‑morphological, physio‑chemical and land use changes using both field and satellite images techniques. She is also keen on understanding how citizen science could be utilized to reveal a more detailed understanding of these systems.

Suman Prakash Pradhan

Under Secretariat

Suman holds a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science with a Specialization in Natural Resources. He is working as a Research Associate at UKRI-GCRF-South Asian Nitrogen Hub, Kathmandu University, Nepal. His research interests include natural product chemistry and the metagenomics approach in the selection of bioindicators of environmental stresses in terrestrial habitats. 

Aashish Kumar Mishra


Aashish has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Studies from Kathmandu University. He is active in the field of journalism and advertising wherein he has designed various Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials and promotional advertisements regarding environmental conservation. He has also provided inputs in various capacities to other environmental advertisements produced by his organization. Currently, he works in BBC Nepal.


Kevin Bajracharya

Program Officer & Creative Lead

Kevin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Kathmandu University, Nepal. Passionate about resilience and climate-adaptive technologies, he collaborated with a dynamic team to communicate disaster risk at Youth Innovation Lab and advocate data-driven policies at the municipal level through creative visual storytelling. Likewise, through Greenway Nepal, he promoted sustainable urban mobility in Kathmandu through bicycling. A storytelling enthusiast, Kevin shares project narratives and enjoys cycling and exploring new destinations in his free time.

Aditya Pal

Project Officer

Aditya has a Master’s degree in Zoology from Tribhuvan University. He is chiefly an ornithologist but his work touches other aspects of wildlife and biodiversity conservation as well including capacity development at a local-level. He has also been associated with other organizations such as Bird Conservation Nepal, CSIRO Australia, and Nepal Orinthology Union. Likewise, he has worked as lead biodiversity expert in ’Big forest Nepal’, a landscape conservation initiative in the lowlands of Nepal and has also been a mentor in Wildlife Conservation e-Course of University of Oxford. He is currently leading a community-based work at Koshi Tappu.

Shreeya Manandhar

Research Associate

Shreeya is also a Master’s student in Environmental Science, specializing in Wildlife Management at Kathmandu University, and a WWF Chandra Gurung Memorial Fellow. Her interest includes working to restore habitats such as Nagdaha in efforts to support biodiversity in urban settings. Assisting in water analysis laboratories for undergraduate students while working as a teaching assistant at KU has also helped her develop skills in the same.

Khusii Vaidya

Khusii is a dedicated and environmentally-conscious individual currently in her third year pursuing a BSc in Environmental Science at Kathmandu University. Passionate about understanding and addressing complex ecological challenges, she has immersed herself in coursework that spans the intersection of biology, chemistry, and policy. Beyond the classroom, she has actively sought opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge through hands-on experiences and has engaged in sustainability initiatives. Her journey in environmental science has not only honed her analytical skills but also instilled a deep commitment to fostering positive change. Eager to contribute to the preservation of our planet, she is poised to embark on a fulfilling career in environmental stewardship.

Ragini Vaidya

Ragini is a dynamic and enthusiastic individual currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Science at Kathmandu University. Her academic journey has equipped her with a solid foundation in research and analysis. Complemented by hands-on experience and knowledge in the food system, as she has taken a course on it issued by Wageningen University and Research, she is confident in her ability to bring fresh perspectives and a proactive mindset to the team. She is drawn to SENSE by its reputation for active research and social indulgence, and she is excited about the prospect of contributing her skills and passion to further elevate the innovative initiatives.
